Serge Gnabry to play for Bayern Munich against Tottenham

He’ll probably be booed at White Hart Lane, but Serge Gnabry doesn’t care.
The former Arsenal winger returns to north London, but will don the red of Bayern Munich for the Champions League group stage game.
“I’m not really bothered about [the reception],” he said. “Yes, I’ve played for
Arsenal, but this is a new game. I’m here with Bayern Munich now and I’m going to give my best.”
The 24-year-old left the Emirates for Werder Bremen in 2016 and Bayern snapped him up a year later and sent him on loan to Hoffenheim.

Gnabry is now a Bayern Munich player, but previously spent four years at Arsenal

He has worked his way into the Bayern first team and since 2019 has been directly involved in 12 Bundesliga goals.
The two sides are meeting for the first time in more than 35 years and Gnabry, Phillipe Coutinho and Kingsley Coman will be doing their best to give Robert Lewandowski, who has 10 goals in six league games this season, the best opportunities to add to that tally.
“It’s is not going to be easy, but our game is a lot about wingers with a lot of speed, so we’re hoping, of course, to bring our game and exploit the spaces they have.”

On Coman, the 23-year-old who counts Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain as his other clubs, he said: “He’s an amazing player with amazing speed who can dribble past people and for a few years now the world knows him as one of the best wingers and it’s good to have him in our team.”
In Group B this season, Tottenham began
with a 2-2 draw against Olympiakos, while Bayern beat Red Star Belgrade 3-0.
In their last meeting, in the 1983/84 UEFA Cup, Spurs beat Bayern en route to winning the trophy. A 1-0 third round defeat in Munich was overcome thanks to a 2-0 home win.
