According to reports from United States Geological Survey, the quake reached a magnitude 4.0, making it one of the strongest earthquakes in Ghana in years.
The tremor which occured three consecutive times in the space of 10 minutes, causing serious scare among residents in Accra. A footage of the incident was also captured by CCTV in someone’s house.
Some of the areas the tremor hit include; Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Kaneshie, Tesano, Dansoman, Dunkanaa, Lapaz, Achimota, Santa Maria, Adenta, Weija, Madina, Kwabenya, East Legon, Nsawam, Koforidua, Swedru, Dodowa, Tema among others.
Back in 2019, Ghana experienced two strong earth tremors and one in 2018. These tremors were recorded in the Capital City of Ghana 'Accra'.
